Ten 100th anniversaries--1000 years of celebration. 2010 is the year to commemorate!
- Fram, forward into the future celebrating 100 years of District 2 Sons of Norway
- The ice ship Fram departs Norway for the historic South Pole exploration with Roald Amundsen and crew on August 10, 1910
- Harald Haarfager Lodge 2-11 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, celebrates 100 years, January 10, 1910, and during the International Convention
- Sleipner Lodge 7-8 (formerly of District 2) in Vancouver BC, celebrates 100 years, February 27, 2010 with a celebration on May 29, 2010 during the District 7 convention from May 28-29, 2010, in Burnaby British Columbia
- Fram Lodge 6-13 (formerly of District 2) in Eureka California, celebrated 100 years on March 26, 2010
- Grieg Lodge 2-15 in Portland, Oregon, celebrates 100 years, April 17-May17, 2010
- Nidaros Lodge 2-16 in Astoria/Gearhart, Oregon, celebrated 100 years on April 18, 2010 with a celebration on April 17, 2010
- Fritjov Lodge 2-17 in Stanwood, Washington, celebrates 100 years on April 24, 2010 with a celebration on April 25, 2010
- Bjornstjerne Bjornson author of the Norwegian national anthem, Ja vi elsker passed away 100 years ago on April 26, 1910
- Bjørnsterne Bjørnson Lodge 6-14 (formerly of District 2), celebrated 100 years on April 14, 2010 with a celebration on April 10, 2010

Monday, May 17 - Norwegian Constitution Day
Syttende Mai in downtown Ballard
This year Seattle's Norwegian Seventeenth of May committee helps District 2 celebrate with the nomination of Waldo Bueing, President of District 2, as honorary marshal for the day! Attached is more information about the events in Seattle on May 17 just in case you are coming to Everett early. The District 2 convention starts on Wednesday, May 19 and concludes on May 22, at the Holiday Inn in Everett, Washington!
The 17th of May is celebrated with a full day of Norwegian-American activities in Ballard. Please join us for a day of fun and celebration!

3-5 p.m.
Ballard Community Center
Children can enjoy traditional games from Norway and the United States. The games are free and all participants receive awards. A surprise guest is usually on hand to delight one and all. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Entertainment at Bergen Place
2-5 p.m.
Intersection of Market St., Leary Ave., and 22nd Ave.
On parade day, there are public performances at Bergen Place from 2-5 p.m., featuring a number of acts with Nordic flair! A list of performers will be posted shortly.
Cafe at Leif Erikson Lodge
4-6 p.m.
Join us at the Leif Erikson Lodge before the parade for Nordic food, which is available for purchase.
17th of May Parade
6-8 p.m.
The highlight of celebrating 17th of May is the parade! The parade route begins near Adams School in Ballard, at the corner of 62nd St NW and 24th Avenue NW. The route follows south to Market Street and eastward to Bergen Place. Come early to save your spot!
